MMA to attend APC: Liaqat Baloch
ISLAMABAD: MMA central leader Liaqat Baloch has said religious alliance has two opinions on resignation issue. He said this while talking to the journalists at Al-Falah hall here on Tuesday. He held M MA tabled several bills in Senate and National Assembly for the protection of women rights, which were killed in speaker’s chamber. Some were killed by law ministry and some are still pending with standing committees.
He went on to say that not only the ulema have condemned the Women Protection Bill (WPB) but coalition partners of ruling PML-Q are also opposed to it. " We have not talked of boycotting senate session, therefore, our senator will attend it", he told. There is no hope that government will do any good, therefore, MMA will not support it in its evil doings. MMA had decided in its earlier meeting that religious alliance law makers would resign if government made legislation against Quran and Sunnah. Some new aspects, dimensions and points have been presented by JUI-F, Markazi Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith and Islami Tehrik-e- Pakistan in this respect. MMA had earlier settled several bitter issues amicably through mutual consultation and it will resolve all problems with consensus in future, he hoped. MMA central organisation has completed two years and central office bearers have to be elected for next two years, he told. The central office bearers have never remained controversial. He indicated that heads of all parties were contacted by Mian Nawaz Sharif in connection with participation in All Parties Conference (APC) being convened by PML-N. MMA will participate in this APC with full force, he added. Opposition parties should launch joint struggle. He claimed general Musharraf is too much disappointed in regard to next general elections. His supporters will have to face unprecedented defeat in upcoming elections.
